12 November 2020, Fort Lauderdale, Florida USA: VIKAND Solutions, LLC—a global maritime medical operations and public health provider—announces the appointment of Joseph Mujwit as Director of Risk Management and Environmental Solutions.

Joe’s role focuses on establishing sound risk management practices that reduce the impact of injuries and illnesses and their associated costs during operations. He leads VIKAND’s Environmental Consultancy providing sustainable environmental operational compliance and best practices for the maritime and yachting industries and VIKAND’s clients.

With more than 20 years’ experience, Joe is an expert environmental, health and safety executive. He is a certified safety professional (CSP) in the cruise industry and has in-depth experience in building sustainable occupational safety and environmental programs. He has proven experience achieving financial results by reducing the cost of injuries and corporate liability. His extensive project management experience across a multitude of industries includes management of EH&S teams and complex project management.  

In his roles, Joe has coordinated with government officials at federal and international levels. Particularly, in the cruise industry, he has served as the Director of Environmental Compliance for both Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and Carnival Cruise Lines, building auditing, protocols, and training programs for fleet environmental officers. He was also the project lead on the preparation of Carnival Cruise Lines’ initial sustainability and corporate responsibility report.

Joseph holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Health and Safety Management and is a Certified Safety Professional—a national board certification administered by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
