4 November 2021, Fort Lauderdale, Florida USA and New York, New York USA: PathSpot, the world's first real-time hand scanning hygiene system, and VIKAND, the global maritime medical operations and public health provider, have partnered to deploy PathSpot for the Cruise Ship Hospitality Expo (CSHE) in Miami on November 10-11, 2021. Attendees from the cruise industry will have the opportunity to scan their hands throughout the event and learn about PathSpot’s data tracking capabilities. More, to facilitate and widely offer its technology to cruise lines, PathSpot has partnered with VIKAND.

The CSHE application of the PathSpot technology will allow attendees a sense of heightened safety by  experiencing PathSpot Hand Scanners that will be set up around the show. Nine locations include entrances to the trade show floor, bathrooms, catering areas, and at VIKAND’S booth (#327), located in the health and hygiene zone.

"Elite Exhibitions deeply understands the importance of public health, especially as the world continues to recover from COVID-19,” says Toby Walters, Elite Exhibitions CEO. “We're excited to welcome our industry friends back to CSHE, which is why we're taking all precautions recommended by the CDC, as well as taking additional steps like partnering with VIKAND and PathSpot to make sure our attendees feel confident in joining us.”

The PathSpot Hand Scanner uses light-based detection to provide real-time feedback on the quality and effectiveness of every hand wash for crew members. The scanner delivers instant results if harmful contaminants are detected, allowing team members to take corrective action to prevent the spread of illness. The system also collects data to prevent future risk and allows management to easily monitor and ensure proper hygienic practices.

“PathSpot and VIKAND share similar missions to keep customers, crew, and team members safe through a proactive and evidence-based approach,” said Delanie Thurlow, Director of Enterprise Sales of PathSpot. “Our partnership is a natural fit to provide the global maritime industry with PathSpot’s hygiene technology as part of VIKAND’S comprehensive suite of healthcare solutions.”

In related conference news, Paul Morgan, VIKAND’s Vice President, Compliance and Quality Assurance, joins Captain Patrik Dahlgren, Senior Vice President, Global Marine Operations, Royal Caribbean Group, James Mitchell, Vice President, Marine HSEM, Norwegian Holding Group and session moderator Marcel Kind, Managing Director, Simwave for “We Are One Cruise Industry: Standardising Health & Hygiene” on Thursday, 11 November from 12:15 pm – 1:15 pm.
