CONSENT

By providing VIKAND with your CV and supporting documents, you consent to the use your information for the purpose of recruitment and you authorize VIKAND to administer and store your data for this purpose.

PERSONAL DATA RECEIVED

VIKAND requests the personal data necessary to provide our clients with a clear professional profile of each candidate. All our clients have strict and different recruitment guidelines and each company may require company-specific personal data from each candidate in order to make a hiring decision.

During the initial phase of the recruitment system, we may require personal data such as:

• Name Email address
• Copy of ID document
• Address CV
• Letters of reference
• Contact details Medical license
• Required medical and maritime certifications

USE OF DATA RECEIVED

The data received is used for the sole objective of securing employment for the candidates.  Qualified candidates’ professional profiles which include personal data (CV) are forwarded to our clients for review.  We inform our clients that this data received from VIKAND can only be used for recruitment purposes.

STORAGE OF PERSONAL DATA

Recruitment personal data is stored in accordance with HIPAA and EU data protection laws.  This data is retained for 12 months from the day it is received by VIKAND. After that time period, personal data will be deleted.

CHANGE OR REMOVE DATA

At any time, any candidate is entitled to contact VIKAND to access their personal data, to make changes, or to request that some or all of the personal data be removed from our system. This can be done by writing to employment@vikand.com.  Requests received in writing will receive a response within 30 days of receipt of request.

DATA PROTECTION POLICIES

In regards to its personal data policy, VIKAND is subjected to the laws of the United States Federal Trade Commission and when requested by legal authorities of the United States may be obligated to provide access to any personal data received if requested for legal or security reasons.

Additionally, VIKAND is fully committed to achieving full compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and will conform to all principles associated with data protection policies from and all European countries.
